Help us make every step count at 2025 Border Relay For Life

From Saturday 18 October to Sunday 19 October 2025, the CVGT Employment Wodonga and Albury teams will once again lace up their walking shoes and take to the track at Alexandra Park in Albury for the annual Border Relay For Life, a powerful community event raising funds for the Cancer Council’s research, prevention, and support services.

Our 2025 Border Relay For Life theme

This year, the CVGT Wodonga and Albury team are proud to unveil custom designed t-shirts that bring our Relay For Life theme, ‘Every Ribbon Tells A Story’ to life in the most meaningful way.

Each shirt features over 70 ribbons, each one representing a loved one, family or friend, who has faced, or is currently facing, cancer. These ribbons were created by each team member, making every shirt a deeply personal tribute to the people we walk for.

These shirts are more than just uniforms, they’re wearable stories of strength, love, and remembrance. They symbolise the courage of those we’ve lost, those still fighting, and those who’ve survived.
Karie Lowe
CVGT Employment Team Leader

Lovingly brought to life by Rachael G from Velflex in Wodonga, the shirts were printed with incredible care and generously donated at cost price.

“The front of the shirt features the purple message ‘Every Ribbon Tells A Story’ placed over the heart. The back includes the CVGT Employment logo and the CVGT value ‘Better Together,’ a message that reflects our unity and shared purpose,” Karie adds.

“These shirts are a powerful visual reminder of why we Relay. They embody our theme and the stories that inspire every step we take.”

Our fundraising efforts

You can support the teams cause and help them reach their fundraising goal of $3,000 by donating at CVGT Wodonga and Albury Border Relay For Life Fundraising page.

“When we’re not walking the track, you’ll find us at the CVGT Employment stall come say hello, learn more about our work, and share your own story,” says team captain Denika Baldwin, CVGT Employment Skills Mentor.

Together, we make a difference

“We anticipate sore feet and tired eyes come Monday, but every step we take is worth it. With every ribbon, every lap, and every donation, we move closer to a future free from cancer,” Denika adds.

Let’s rally together. Because every ribbon tells a story and every story matters.
