Incentives for Job Seekers
With CVGT Australia as your job partner, you can be assured you will have access to any Australian Government incentives that you may be eligible for.
Current job seeker incentives include the “Job Commitment Bonus”, where eligible job seekers can receive up to $6,500 in Australian Government assistance, and the “Relocation Assistance” incentive where eligible job seekers may receive up to $9,000 to help relocate their family for work.

Group Training Apprenticeships and Traineeships
Group Training Apprenticeship or Traineeship is a training and employment arrangement where CVGT, known as a Group Training Organisation (GTO) employs apprentices and trainees under an apprenticeship/traineeship training contract and places them with host employers.
A GTO assumes the employer responsibilities for the quality and continuity of the apprentices’ and trainees’ employment and training. The GTO also manages the additional care and support necessary to achieve the successful completion of the training contract.
jobactive is targeted at job seekers receiving income support payments such as Newstart, Youth Allowance or Parenting Payment.
As a jobactive provider, CVGT helps employers find staff for their business by referring potential employees, helping the new employee settling into the job and providing wage subsidies for employing an eligible job seeker.
jobactive provides eligible job seekers with access to tailored help based on their assessed needs. This could include help looking for work, writing a résumé , preparing for interviews, referrals to jobs, training and help to settle into a job.
ParentsNext is targeted a Parenting Payment recipients, with a youngest child aged under six, who have not reported employment income in the past six months.
Participants get assistance to identify their education and employment goals, develop a pathway to achieve these goals and connect with appropriate activities and services in their local community.
Transition to Work
Transition to Work is targeted at early school leavers; however the service will also support some young people who have experienced difficulty transitioning from education to employment.
The service provides intensive, pre-employment support to improve the work-readiness of young people and help them into work (including apprenticeships and traineeships) or education.
Youth Crime Prevention Program
Second Chance Bendigo is a diversionary health, education and employment support program in the Greater Bendigo area designed to reduce custodial sentencing and repeat offending of young people.
The program is funded by CVGT and the Department of Justice and Regulation’s Community Crime Prevention Unit to help young people achieve education or employment goals.
Disability Employment Services
As a DES provider, CVGT helps employers find staff for their business by referring potential employees, helping the new employee settling into the job, work place modifications (if needed) and providing wage subsidies for employing an eligible participant.
DES provides eligible participants with access to tailored help based on their assessed needs. This could include help looking for work, writing a résumé, preparing for interviews, referrals to jobs, training and help to settle into a job including work place modifications (if needed).
Working On The Job
We like to make things as easy as possible for you, through understanding, guidance and support. Our Working On The Job program has been specially designed to offer flexible services that are tailored to your needs.
Our staff work closely support services including Anglicare, Bendigo District Aboriginal Cooperative, Haven Home Safe, Castlemaine Community District Health and Bendigo Kangan Institute to:
- Identify job seekers who require assistance to gain employment
- Actively engage with employers to identify job opportunities
- Link participants to community support services.
From your first appointment, you will be engaged in activities supported by our trained and experienced staff to make you work-ready, and to help you into work.
Once you know which program is for you, the road to the perfect job will generally start with an interview with one of our employment experts. They will take time to get to know you to understand your current skills, goals and individual circumstances.
