Bernadette is learning that no two days are the same on a dairy farm, and sometimes you have to get in and get your hands dirty.

Bernadette commenced with our jobactive program late last year, with support from career coach Nigel who is based in our Albury branch, and gained a role at a dairy farm in the region.

“I’ve been working long days and smell like the cows but I’m loving all aspects of it,” says Bernadette.

In her role, Bernadette has made some new friends – of the four-legged variety – and helped to bring new life into the world.

“Almost all the 130 calves have been born. We’ve had some emergencies such as prolapses and breeches which have been exciting to remedy.

“It’s fantastic to learn from such a good boss.”

Bernadette says the support and guidance from CVGT has been “such a blessing”.
