Thank you for donating to our successful 2022 CVGT Employment Toy Drive

Thanks to generous contributions like yours, the 2022 CVGT Employment Toy Drive was a wonderful success. We received 1025 donated gifts for our Goulburn Murray ParentsNext participant children. Your generosity meant ParentsNext children, particularly those affected by the devastating floods, had a wonderful surprise and beautiful gifts at Christmas.

“The CVGT ParentsNext team and I spent the last week of work in lead up to Christmas travelling across Goulburn Murray surprising the kids with donated gifts,” Kathryn Lord manager ParentsNext said. “Seeing their eyes light up with pure joy and excitement was the best gift of all.”

Christmas is a joyous time, but it can also be a time of financial stress and anxiety for parents, who appreciated the support from community. “The toy drive is a fantastic idea. It has taken some pressure off after a horrible year,” said a Rochester ParentsNext participant.

For a Kyabram parent, the donations brought further relief after the devastating floods.  “Thank you so much! This is going to help so much this year,” she said of receiving gifts for her children.

The kids thought getting a toy was very special, too. “This is the best present I have ever had, and no one will take it from me,” said an Echuca participant’s son after receiving his gift.

The toy drive also provided additional social and economic benefits to the communities in which CVGT operate, with most donations being purchased from flood – affected stores.

The generosity from community was heart-warming. It was wonderful to see a smile brought to so many children’s faces this Christmas, especially after a year fraught with challenges.
