Launceston Open Day
Launceston Disability Employment Service (DES) recently held an open day to increase awareness of the service in the local area.
Around 30 people with a keen interest in disability employment attended the open day including employers, community service providers, schools/RTOs, students and participants.
A former DES participant shared their story going from being a successful career woman, to needing DES services due to depression, and then going on to find a new and equally successful career path.
Attendees also heard from two employers who have hired people with disability, which led to an inclusive discussion among the group.
In all, new participants registered on the day and connections were made with some new employers.
Overall it was a great success. Well done to the Launceston team!
