Trilogy sponsorship: supporting community meals and building skills

Through a CVGT Employment sponsorship in 2025, we were proud to support Trilogy Support in Wodonga as they delivered a weekly community meal program for individuals and families experiencing hardship. Our funding helped cover the cost of fresh ingredients, meal preparation, and the safe, welcoming environment where nutritious, high‑quality meals were served.

This initiative not only addressed food insecurity but also created a space where people could connect, feel valued, and experience a sense of dignity and inclusion. For many, the weekly meal became a reliable point of support and community. Local customer Bonnie shared her appreciation:

“Wodonga has always been referred to as ‘Struggle Town,’ but not now. We have a ‘5‑star’ eating house here. At Trilogy in Hume Street, Wodonga—great meals, made on the place and served by students learning how to prepare AND serve great food, coffee (with all kinds of milk available) and teas, all served to a very high standard. A great training place. Everyone is made welcome.”

The program also created meaningful opportunities for skill development. Participants involved in preparing and serving meals gained hands‑on hospitality experience, mentoring, and confidence—strengthening both individual capability and broader community participation.

The impact of the CVGT sponsorship was clear. Each week, around 20–30 community members accessed a nourishing meal, benefiting not only from the food itself but from the stability and routine the program offered. Attendees consistently highlighted how important it was to have a space where they felt respected and included.

Another local customer, J. Gibbson, reflected on the value of the program:

The work that you accomplish is terrific for the students and customers. Booked a high tea for my granddaughter when here from Queensland. The delight on their faces was great, service was so professional and products terrific. They had a wonderful time with a lasting memory for them. We have noticed over time that the students have gained so much confidence in the work that they do.

The strong weekly attendance demonstrated both the need for this service and the positive outcomes made possible through CVGT’s support. By enabling Trilogy to provide consistent, nutritious meals and valuable training opportunities, the sponsorship helped strengthen wellbeing, connection, and social inclusion across the Wodonga community.
