Industry experience drives recruitment success for Regent Cinemas
When Regent Cinemas Albury Wodonga needed to recruit new team members, they turned to CVGT Employment for support. Leading the recruitment effort was Employment Consultant Jody, whose more than 20 years of experience working at Regent Cinemas gave her a unique understanding of the business, its culture and the qualities needed to succeed in the industry.
Drawing on longstanding relationships with the cinema’s leadership team, Jody worked closely with Regent Cinemas to understand current and future staffing needs. Together with the CVGT team, she helped develop a proactive recruitment strategy that identified suitable local candidates and prepared them for upcoming opportunities.
To support the recruitment campaign, CVGT organised an information session at its Albury office, giving job seekers valuable insight into the roles available across the cinema. Attendees learned about position requirements, workplace expectations and the skills needed to succeed in a customer-focused environment.
The session attracted 26 participants, highlighting strong interest in the opportunities available at Regent Cinemas.
For Jody, the project was more than a recruitment campaign.
Having spent more than two decades working at Regent Cinemas before joining CVGT Employment, she was uniquely placed to bridge the gap between employer expectations and job seeker potential.
Using her industry knowledge and strong employer relationships, Jody worked closely with candidates to prepare them for the recruitment process. She helped participants understand workplace expectations, build confidence, improve their interview skills and gain any required certifications, ensuring they were ready to step into available roles.
Her understanding of both the employer’s needs and the strengths of each participant proved invaluable in achieving successful outcomes for everyone involved.
CVGT then worked individually with participants to ensure they were job ready. Support included assistance with resumes, interview preparation and coaching, help accessing suitable interview clothing, and support to obtain role-specific requirements such as Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification and Food Handler Certificates where needed.
By taking the time to understand both the employer’s requirements and the strengths of each participant, CVGT was able to deliver a recruitment solution tailored to the needs of Regent Cinemas.
The recruitment campaign delivered outstanding results, with 9 participants securing employment across a range of roles within the cinema.
Today, those employees are contributing to the day-to-day operations of Regent Cinemas, supporting customer service, ticket sales, food and beverage service, and cinema operations while helping create positive experiences for moviegoers across the region.
Message from CVGT Branch Manager
The Regent Cinemas program has been our most successful initiative to date. A key factor in this success was the knowledge, expertise and strong industry relationships that Jody brought to the project.
Working collaboratively with Regent Cinemas, we facilitated information and job canvassing workshops that gave participants a clear understanding of the available roles and expectations. The result was strong candidate engagement, quality applications and ultimately nine successful placements.
