CVGT Australia’s community spirit 2016

Monday was a great day for many community groups when CVGT Australia rewarded applicants of the 2016 community grants program with thousands of dollars in assistance.

Chairman of the CVGT Australia Board, Rosalie Lake said the company’s board takes great pride in its support of community projects through the community grants program.

”We do this with a broader community picture in mind. CVGT’s promise is to deliver positive economic and social benefits to the community.

“Grants are available across all areas where CVGT operates, this year we have been able to support nine groups making our communities better,” Ms Lake said.

This year’s recipients are:

  • Benalla Relay for Life – financial support to host event
  • Coaching Evolution Kayak Club – customised GPS units to monitor and track athletes
  • Shepparton Darts Association – security fencing
  • Bendigo Animal Welfare and Community Services – veterinary care support
  • Hepburn Community Radio – purchase specialist equipment
  • Bears of Hope Pregnancy and Infant Loss Support – financial support to host workshops
  • Shepparton Swans Football Club – playing jumpers for U14s
  • Shepparton Sports Stadium – financial support for all abilities cricket team
  • California Gully Primary School – school production.

One recipient was Debbie Edwards, Founder and President of Bendigo Animal Welfare and Community Services.

Ms Edwards said that the group’s unique community programs offer support for disadvantaged pet owners in a variety of ways, to ensure a positive outcome for both pets and their owners.

“The demand for our services has grown considerably since we first began.

“The grant will be used to support disadvantages pet owners with veterinary care support, Ms Edwards said.
