Calling all not-for-profits, charities and government organisations/agencies – CVGT Australia has brought Work for the Dole coordinator services to Mildura, Swan Hill & Horsham and surrounding areas and the company needs host employers to support this great initiative.
CVGT Australia Deputy CEO John Lynch said through Work for the Dole, host employers can be the vital link helping job seekers transition into the world of work.
“Work for the Dole activities help job seekers learn new skills and improves their chance of finding a job while giving back to the community.
“From 1st July, job seekers registered with a jobactive provider, who has been on income support for six month or more may be required to participate in a Work for the Dole activity.
“We are looking for host employers who can offer a range of opportunities including retail, administration, gardening and maintenance, conservation and rehabilitation, hospitality and warehousing.
“Job seekers will spend 15 to 25 hours weekly for six months each year participating in Work for the Dole. While Work for the Dole coordinators will support the host employer, host employers are asked to provide real, work-like experiences, inductions, a safe place of work and adequate supervision,” Mr Lynch said.
For more information, potential host employers should contact their local Work for the Dole coordinator:
