Service Delivery

Whether you are re-entering the workforce after a break, entering it for the first time or find yourself having to change employers, it can be a daunting process especially with the application processes used in today's workplace.

When you choose CVGT as your Job Network provider, Centrelink will arrange an appointment for you with CVGT. When you attend your first appointment CVGT will complete a Vocation Profile (electronic resume) and explain our full range of services.

After you have registered with CVGT you have access to:

  • Telephones to contact employers
  • Internet for Job Searching
  • A touch screen computer
  • Word Processing facilities
  • Photocopier for resumes and applications
  • Fax machine to send off resumes and applications to employers and other job agencies

  • People who receive a benefit from Centrelink and most young people, also have access to a range of services which are provided by CVGT, these include:

Employment Preparation: Employment Preparation is a government program directed towards Parent and Mature Age clients who are re-entering the workforce after a considerable absence. This program is tailored to the individual requirements of each person.

Job Search Training: We prefer to call this program "Tackling the ever changing Working Maze". This program will help you prepare or refine your resume, show you different alternatives for looking for work, finding the hidden job market, coach you with interview techniques, understanding what the employer requires when you apply for a vacancy and many other aspects of looking for work in today's employment market.

Community Work Co-ordinators: We can help you to interact with a Community Work Co-ordinator (CWC). These providers deliver Work for the Dole and also liaise with other Volunteer organisations. Volunteering in a Community Project can provide with you practical experience and/or skills. It gives you a chance to engage in a working environment and could lead to a valuable referee for your resume. Many participants have been offered paid employment through their participation in these projects, and there is an added bonus of being eligible for Training Credits (these credits can pay for courses, licenses etc), when you have completed the required amount of hours.

Customised Assitance: All of our services are customised to suit each persons individual requirements, but through this program we can offer a more intense service and provide you with that little bit of extra help that may be just what is need to allow you to flourish.
