CVGT understands its obligations under the National Privacy
Principles as outlined in the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector)
Act 2000.
CVGT is strongly committed to protecting the privacy of its
employees and customers utilizing or involved in providing CVGT
services.
CVGT recognises that privacy, security and service are important
pillars impacting on its employees and customers and acknowledges
that employees and customers have a right to know how personal
information is collected and used while respecting the need for
confidentiality and security of personal information at all
times.
Information Collected & Usage
CVGT collects information when customers register for the provision
of Government employment and training services required and
offered.
CVGT guarantees that any request/collection of personal information
related to the purpose of providing services to Job Seekers,
Apprentices and Trainees, Employers and Suppliers will be collected
in a legal way including the processing of information on our
secure databases and filing systems in order to understand the
customer needs and improve service levels.
CVGT uses customer information for purposes permitted, required or
authorised by or under law to:
- Identify and assist with queries
- Provide Customer Data
- Provide the service or training required
- Improve our levels of customer service by collecting
information which will assist us to administer and manage certain
services, including charging, billing and collecting debts.
Access to Information held
CVGT customers have a reasonable right of access to the personal
information it collects and stores. When customers make a request
in writing and provide such to Human Resources, subject to proof of
identity, CVGT will respond to the customer's request within 14
days. If information held is inaccurate or out of date, CVGT will
correct it on written advice of the customer.
Third party disclosure
CVGT undertakes not to disclose any sensitive information gathered
from customers to any third party without prior consent. CVGT may
disclose for related purpose some personal information to other
divisions of CVGT in order to provide customers with a specifically
requested service, as per the relevant privacy collection
statement.
Where providing information is not mandatory, CVGT will give the
customer the opportunity to opt-in or opt-out in situations where
information is collected for marketing purposes or notices of
products or training. CVGT will then send such material only if the
customer elects to receive it.
CVGT Website
CVGT will take all reasonable steps to protect the personal
information held from misuse and loss and from unauthorised access,
modification and disclosure, including its storage in a secure
database.
To enable CVGT to monitor and improve the functionality of the
website, and for site statistics analysis, CVGT may gather
information about customers, including details of operating
systems, browser version, domain name and IP address. To make use
of certain features on CVGT's website, visitors may need to
register to provide certain information for the purposes of
accessing the services CVGT provide.
Complaints and Disputes
If, for any reason, you believe that CVGT or any employee of CVGT
has breached this Privacy Policy, then the matter should be raised
with the
Manager - Human Resources - P.O. Box 473 Bendigo 3550.
CVGT will investigate all complaints and respond in 14 days. In the
event the complaint is justified, CVGT will promptly resolve the
problem to the satisfaction of those involved.
Policy Review
This policy, which is reviewed annually, is authorised by the Chief
Executive Officer and displayed in at all CVGT sites.
