The objective of STEP is to provide employers, particulary
in the private sector,with additional assistance to recruit,train and develop
Indigenous Australians. This includes training in cultural awareness, pre-employment
training for participants, employment placement and mentoring after placement
for both the participant and the employer.

Who is eligible?
- Indigenous Australians
- People who identify and are accepted by the community in which
they currently live or have lived.
- Must be of working age

- Tailored pre-employment training and licensing
- The opportunity for the participant to gain a qualification through either a Traineeship or an Apprenticeship
